Community Defibrillator
Uffington Parish Council applied to the British Heart Foundation for a grant for a community defibrillator which they received. They also purchased the telephone kiosk from BT to house the defibrillator and its cabinet.
Please note that this defibrillator is in an unlocked cabinet ready for use by the emergency services or who ever needs it.
You do not need specific training on how to use it as specific instructions are given via the machine and the emergency services.
If you suspect someone is having a heart attack you should always call 999 in the first instance and they will tell you how to proceed .If you need to use the defibrillator they will guide you on what exactly you need to do.
The Parish Council will be looking at setting up one or two sessions for training of local people on CPR in the Autumn
The Parish Councillor responsible for checking the defibrillator regularly is Councillor Andy Blake tel 07984297818
